3 STEPS FOR DOWNLOADING INSTALLING AND RUNNING THE LINUX GALAXY SDK SUITABLE FOR YOUR MACHINE VISION CAMERA HARDWARE

In this article, we will guide you on how to download, install, and use Linux Galaxy Software Development Kit (SDK) suitable for your industrial camera hardware. Our SDK enables you to modify camera parameters and acquire images from USB3 and GigE cameras. It runs on both X86 and ARM hardware like Nvidia Jetson series and Raspberry Pi. The images in this article are taken from an X86 industrial development board running Linux (Ubuntu 20.04). By following these three easy steps, you will be able to download, install, and use the Galaxy View SDK on Linux.

STEP 1: DOWNLOAD THE LINUX GALAXY SDK

Visit our download page and select the appropriate download link for your computer hardware architecture. If you have X86 hardware, download number 4. For ARM hardware, download number 5.

STEP 2: INSTALL THE SDK

After downloading, open the folder and locate the README file. It will guide you through the installation process step by step. Ensure that your Linux-based system meets the minimum requirements. Once you have verified that, you can then proceed to open the Galaxy_camera.run file. This file will install the Galaxy SDK, including Galaxy View and GxGigeIPConfig.

STEP 3: CONFIGURATE THE CAMERA AND RUN GALAXY VIEW

Upon successful installation, a new folder named “Galaxy_camera” will be created.

Open this folder and locate GigeIPConfig and GalaxyView.

GigEIPConfig

If you have an industrial GigE camera connected to the Galaxy SDK, you will need an IP address. GigeIPConfig allows you to program the correct IP address into the camera. You can either use the AutoConfig button to automatically program a working IP address or set one manually.

Galaxy View

After configuring the camera, you can now execute the Galaxy View software. This program enables you to capture pictures and modify industrial camera parameters without the need for coding. If you have any questions about the Galaxy View software, feel free to contact us.

In conclusion, downloading, installing, and using Linux Galaxy SDK for your industrial camera hardware is straightforward. Follow these three simple steps and you will be able to modify camera parameters and capture images with ease.
